The Mission

Syrah Technologies LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Syrah Resources, an Australian resources company that produces natural graphite from its flagship Balama Graphite Operations in Mozambique. It seeks to be the world’s leading supplier of superior quality graphite and active anode material products, working closely with customers and the supply chain to add value in battery and industrial markets.

The Challenge

Syrah Resources wanted to capture a larger share of the fast-growing electric vehicle market by expanding its graphite processing facility in Vidalia, which produces graphite anode materials for batteries in electric vehicles and other products.

“Louisiana has all the right elements for the development of new technology in the manufacturing sector, including a vision for sustainable development that aligns well with Syrah’s values. Vidalia is a great community that has access to technology centers and benefits from excellent supply chain logistics optionality for this and potentially future expansions.”
