Virginia K. Shehee Biomedical Research Institute

Owned and operated by Biomedical Research Institute, the Virginia K. Shehee Biomedical Research Institute is home to LSU Health Shreveport’s research program. Over 200 faculty members and researchers use the institute’s 56 wet labs, core research facility, PET Imaging Center and office space to conduct basic and clinical research. Named in honor of Louisiana’s first female state senator, the institute was built at a cost of $37 million and is a 160,000 square foot facility.‍
