SchoolMint To Conduct Virtual Job Fair For Lafayette Positions
LAFAYETTE, La. — Education software leader SchoolMint will host a virtual job fair on Thursday, Aug. 27, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Hosted in partnership with the nation’s top-ranked state workforce development program, LED FastStart®, the SchoolMint job fair will take place on the virtual event platform Brazen.com. Through the job fair, SchoolMint will hire up to 30 people to fulfill its end-of-year hiring goals.
In July 2020, SchoolMint announced that, following its 2019 acquisition of Lafayette-based Smart Choice Technologies, the company will consolidate U.S. operations in New York and Miami to Lafayette, and relocate its headquarters from San Francisco to Lafayette.
“SchoolMint is a mission-driven technology company helping K-12 schools and districts create bright, sustainable futures,” SchoolMint CEO Bryan MacDonald said. “We serve over 10 million students, parents, and educators around the country. Come join our growing team in warm and welcoming Lafayette and build your own bright, sustainable future with us.”
Candidates will connect to the virtual job fair through the event landing page – Lafayette.org/schoolmint. A link to the Brazen.com platform will be available through the landing page. Candidates will connect with SchoolMint representatives in one-on-one virtual booths on the platform. The company is hiring for positions in Customer Success, Engineering, Implementation and Professional Services, and Marketing and Sales.
“Innovation is the greatest tool we have in the face of new and old challenges, and SchoolMint embodies the spirit of innovation,” said LED FastStart Executive Director Paul Helton. “LED FastStart is proud to join with our economic development partners in Acadiana to connect talented job seekers with the exciting career opportunities at SchoolMint.”
SchoolMint and LED FastStart are partnering with Lafayette Economic Development Authority, South Louisiana Community College, Acadiana Workforce, the Louisiana Workforce Commission and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette for the virtual job fair.
The latest tech win for the Acadiana Region, SchoolMint chose Lafayette after company leaders witnessed the area’s pro-technology and pro-business climate, college-to-career pipeline, and availability of local talent. Currently, employees are working remotely, while operations in Lafayette are taking place in an interim office located at 1100 Bertrand Drive.
