Benteler Steel/Tube To Conduct Major Maintenance Career Fair For Shreveport Facility
BOSSIER CITY, La. — Benteler Steel/Tube, a diverse and dynamic seamless steel tube manufacturing company, will conduct a career fair for its Shreveport site on Friday and Saturday, July 13-14. The career fair will take place at Bossier Parrish Community College in the Emmett E. Cope Student Services Building from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The address is 6220 E. Texas St. in Bossier City, where LED FastStart® – the nation’s top-ranked state workforce training program – will support the event.
The career fair seeks applicants interested in skilled hourly maintenance positions at Benteler Steel/Tube’s Hot Rolling Mill in Shreveport. The event targets the following maintenance skilled positions (with two to five years of industrial experience): maintenance technicians, millwrights, electrical technicians, CNC operators and lathe operators. Benteler Steel/Tube offers competitive pay with production bonus opportunities. Work shifts vary, depending on the plant area, and may be 8-, 10- or 12-hour shifts, with potential rotations and weekend duties.
Benteler Steel/Tube plans to hire up to an additional 75 skilled team members in the next six to eight months. Hiring will begin following the career fair, after applicants go through a job-screening and pre-employment assessment process. Applicants will be required to pass a drug screening and background check.
Benteler Steel/Tube evaluated over 100 sites in 13 states in 2012 before selecting a site at The Port of Caddo-Bossier in Shreveport, Louisiana, for the company’s first U.S. manufacturing operation.
