Globalstar To Conduct Career Fair For Covington Facility

COVINGTON, La. — Globalstar, a leading provider of mobile voice and data services via satellite, will conduct a career fair on Wednesday, Feb. 6, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn in Covington. The hotel is located at 350 Holiday Square Blvd. on the northwest corner of Interstate 12 and U.S. Highway 190. Interested candidates may apply online before or after the job fair at Globalstar.com/careers.

LED FastStart® – the nation’s top-ranked, state workforce development program – is supporting the event. The career fair seeks applicants interested in customer relations positions. Globalstar’s customer relations specialists are integral to providing information about company products and services, while also working to resolve any challenges that affect customer loyalty and retention. Available positions include customer relations specialists and bilingual customer relations specialists fluent in Spanish, French or Portuguese.

Hiring begins following the job fair, after applicants go through a job-screening and pre-employment assessment process. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States and are required to pass a drug screening and background check. Candidates also must be able to accommodate a flexible schedule at the Globalstar facility in Covington, which is staffed 24 hours per day with varying shifts.

In July 2010, Globalstar announced the relocation of its corporate headquarters from Milpitas, California, to Louisiana. The move also included the relocation of several other Globalstar business functions to Covington, including product development, engineering, network operation and control center, finance, accounting, sales, marketing, corporate communications and customer relations. This month, Globalstar will begin moving into its recently completed headquarters building in Covington.
