Benteler Steel/Tube To Conduct Job Fair For Shreveport Facility

BOSSIER CITY, La. — Benteler Steel/Tube will conduct a job fair for its seamless tube manufacturing facility from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9 at Bossier Parish Community College. The job fair will consist of presentations, question-and-answer periods and information about the Benteler application process. Sessions will begin each hour and last approximately 45 minutes.

To participate in the job fair, attendees should report to the BPCC Health and Physical Education Center, which is Building 1 on the campus located at 6220 E. Texas St.

LED FastStart® – the nation’s No. 1 state workforce development program – is supporting the event along with Bossier Parish Community College and the Louisiana Workforce Commission. The job fair seeks applicants interested in mechanical and electrical maintenance positions, as well as production positions in the areas of hot-rolling mill operations, finishing operations, quality, logistics, infrastructure, and production planning.

For the $975 million Shreveport facility, which is under construction at the Port of Caddo-Bossier, Benteler plans to hire 675 full-time employees upon reaching full capacity. However, job candidates will need to apply online to be eligible for interviews and to be considered for jobs.

Candidates for the hourly jobs who are invited for an interview must be willing to participate in a three-day pre-employment assessment process for operators lasting four hours per day, or a two-day pre-employment assessment process for hourly maintenance jobs lasting six to eight hours per day. Applicants will be required to pass a drug screening and background check.
