The Mission
Metro Aviation Inc., based in Shreveport, is a worldwide provider of helicopter manufacturing completion services for all missions and types of helicopters. It specializes in the Airbus EC135, EC145, and AS350, as well as the Bell 407, with several Supplemental Type Certificates developed by the company for these and other aircraft. Metro is an FAA-approved repair station, approved Airbus Service Center, and FAR Part 135 air medical operations provider at several locations across the U.S. The company is privately held and is the largest traditional air medical operator in the world.
The Challenge
Metro wanted to ensure that all completion customers have access to proper training required for operation of the helicopter models it services by installing full-motion Level D flight simulators on the Airbus EC135 and EC145, as well as Level 7 flight training devices for the Airbus AS350 and Bell 407.
