ALEXANDRIA, La. — Hardwood products manufacturer RoyOMartin is now recruiting production team members for its plywood manufacturing plant in Chopin, Louisiana. Through a paid training program – Certified4Success – selected individuals will receive skills training for manufacturing careers at RoyOMartin. Upon successful completion, graduates will receive full-time jobs at RoyOMartin-Plywood. 

To be considered, candidates for the Certified4Success program must have a high school diploma or equivalent; at least one year of continuous employment in an active, process-based work environment; and must attend one session of Certified4Success: A Hiring Event. The hiring events, which include multiple time options, are below:

Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements for Certified4Success will interview with a RoyOMartin representative at the hiring event programs. After completing an initial interview, candidates will be referred to an on-site representative of the Louisiana Workforce Commission to schedule additional pre-employment activities. Participants who do not meet eligibility requirements may be considered for other employment opportunities at RoyOMartin-Plywood.

In May 2013, LED and RoyOMartin announced a company investment of $20 million in the Martco plywood facility in Chopin to upgrade drying equipment, add a production line and create new jobs at the Chopin site, which employs more than 800 people. LED FastStart® is promoting the RoyOMartin Certified4Success events, in support of the Louisiana Workforce Commission, Central Louisiana Technical Community College and the company.
